St. Patrick's Bad Analogies

St. Patrick's Day is a day to remember a pretty awesome guy who loved Jesus enough to go back to a people who enslaved him when he was just (in his words) "a beardless boy." He preached to the very people who had oppressed him.

There is a rumor that goes around about him that he used the three leaf clover as an analogy for teaching the Trinity. If he did that (and he probably didn't), he used a bad analogy.

Lutheran Satire had some fun with the rumor in this video. I share it with you because it is good to take any excuse to review the Christian doctrine of the Trinity and to see the failure of many of our analogies to do it justice. Also, the video is pretty funny:

For those of you who want to know a bit more about the real St. Patrick, you should check out his Confessions. They are a wonderful legacy to a man of God who was willing to give up everything to share the Gospel with a people who oppressed him.
