Rooted in the Past
We live in such a fast paced, changing world. Families sprawl all over the country and the world and are connected only through social media. Communities are transient and people move around all the time. Historic buildings get torn down to make strip malls.
Sometimes, in the midst of all this fast change, we forget where we came from. We feel like the ground is shifting under our feet and like we are plants without roots.
At Christ’s Church, we recognize our need to be rooted in the past. The Christians of the past preserved the message that we proclaim. Like Saint Jude says, we "contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints." We know that the roots we have are the ones the first Christians planted. In response, we intentionally structure our worship to connect us with the way the earliest Christians worship. We pray the very same prayers, recite the very same creeds, and eat the very same Communion meal that has united all past Christians.
Feeling disconnected? Worship in a way that has roots of connection with the earliest Christians.
